Frequently Asked Questions
This is a purely online course only. The online training is taken in easy-to-follow stages. Once you have enrolled as a student you will be given access to your online learning, the package you can take progress at your own pace. All the student material is provided, including course handbooks, all forms, and extra learning modules. You will have access to your assessor seven days per week if required to speak with you if you get stuck. At the end of the online training, there will be a 32-question exam which you will have 75 minutes to complete.
No the A2CofC does not require a practical flight test, prior to the online theory exam you will have to have completed 2 hours of self-declared flight practise, which flight logs will be uploaded on the date of your exam. Flight log templates are provided in the learning package.
As we have said there is no formal flight test for the A2CofC, however, if you would like flight training from Iprosurv then we would be happy to help, just ask your instructor. We do offer a one-day flight training course at one of our training locations around the country.
Yes, we have lots of online learning with different modules, from micro courses such as residential inspections, and flight planning. We also have Continuous Professional Development courses (CPD) such as GDPR, Introduction to Health, and Saftey, most of these courses are free to people that have an Iprosurv student login. If you want to progress your training to a General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) we also provide that training. We are a complete training solution, based on real life, not theory-based, we know what we are doing because we have been there with our clients.
The siple answer is yes, there is no differensiation in commercial or private and hobby flying.
The extra learning modules are free and optional, however, they are what we believe from experience would be beneficial to any drone operator when starting out. The extra modules are not stipulated within the CAA learning but will contain modules such as drone maintenance, flight planning, and many more. You will also receive a certificate of learning if you decide to complete these additional modules.
We all have an off day, if you do fail your online theory exam your assessor will debrief you and cover any points that may have caused confusion or you did not fully understand. You will also be sent your test results which will tell you where errors were made so you can revise the learning module. you will be then invited to take a free re-test when you feel ready. Your instructor is on hand the whole time to advise you.
Yes, on successful completion of the theory exam, you will receive a certificate to confirm you have completed the A2CofC course.
The modules normally take a student 2-3 days to complete comfortably but can be done in a few hours. There is no pressure to complete the modules as quickly as possible, but we do like students to complete them within 12 months due to legislation changes that may have been made in that period. Your instructor will be with you and will get in touch to see how you are progressing, he will be able to monitor your progress throughout your learning journey.
No you do not need any authorisation. You will need to get a flyer ID which is free from the CAA, we will discuss this a spart of the course, and how to apply, its a simple online process.
